Looking back on our musical evening, I think I can say that a good time was had by everyone, certainly it was encouraging that so many people stayed on afterwards, chatting and listening to more great music.

Chord Company/Dynaudio Focus XD Evening June 11

We would like to invite you to a musical extravaganza!

On Thursday June 11 The Chord Company and Dynaudio UK will be joining forces to show you some amazing products.

The evening wil start at 6.30 pm with a demonstration by Chord. Highlighting how their cables can drastically improve your system and also showing the differences that cable construction techniques have on sound performance; for example, shielding, conductor size and plug design.

At 7.30 pm Dynaudio will demonstrate their latest and most exciting speakers yet, the new Focus XD range. Focus XD speakers connect directly to the music source, making for a simple, stunning, high end system. With built in high performance digital amps and capable of 24 bit/192 resolution playback. They are upgradable to both multiroom and wireless use. These will be connected using Chord's flagship interconnect, the Sarum.

Arcam FMJ A49 Amplifier and FMJ CDS 27 CD Player

The new Arcam A39 Integrated Amplifier

Following hot on the heels of Arcam's flagship A49 Integrated Amplifier comes the more affordable A39.


The really cool thing about this Amplifier is the fact that it is Class G. What this means to the listener is that for the vast majority of the time the music that you hear will be pure Class A, with all the beautiful sweetness in the midband that this entails. When more power is needed the amplifier can then bring in up to 120W of class B power. This is done extremely cleverly, avoiding the normal cross over distortion exhibited by Class A/B amplifiers.

Dolby Atmos demonstrations now available.

Our demo room has now been configured for Dolby Atmos and I have to say that it sounds amazing!

We are running the new Yamaha RXA 2040 and RXA 3040's, using the latest B&W CM series, along with the addition of four discrete in-ceiling speakers and wow! It sounds so much better than I would have thought possible.

Clearaudio and Isotek event. The aftermath

Wow! I can now say that I have heard one of the best turntables that money can buy. To quote a certain politician, I was almost "purring" whilst listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird at obscenely loud volumes.

£50,000 bought us the Master Innovation deck, equiped with the stunning TT1 tangential tonearm, housing the best cartridge in the world(?) the solid gold Goldfinger Statement.

Equally impressive was the demonstration of just how effective Isotek cables and mains conditioning are. We were taken in stages up through their range and it was so obvious as to why you should audition these products. They will make any system sound better.

If you didn't attend you really did miss something special!

Isotek and Clearaudio day. Thursday 25 Sept.

From 3pm to 8pm we will be demonstrating products from both Isotek and Clearaudio.

In store we will be playing both the £11,000 Innovation and the £25,000 Master Innovation turntables on suitably juicy systems. I doubt I will have ever heard any turntable as good as either of these.

 

Isotek will be running half hour long demonstrations, working through their range, showing the advantages of both mains conditioning and regeneration. So many of us have great systems but neglect that fact that if the electical supply is not up to scratch, the sound quality will consequently suffer. Isotek offer products from under £100 so significant gains can be had for a minimal outlay.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

We will be giving away an Isotek Isoplug and an EVO 3 Premier mains lead to two lucky attendees who's names will be drawn at random.

Vinyl Evening June 19

We will be holding our second vinyl evening on Thursday June 16.

We will be playing David Bowie's superb 'Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' album on a fabulous system from start to finish.

Customer Naim Factory Tour

Twenty six Audio T customers were lucky enough to visit Naim's premises last week.

The feedback has been exceptional and I think it safe to say that a good time was had by everyone.

The visit consisted of a tour of the factory, where the sheer care and attention to detail that Naim lavish on their product became apparent to all. This was followed by a trip into R&D (most rare) and a chat with the head of the team behind the Statement amplifier, Steve Sells.

After lunch, everybody had the opportunity to listen to the £12K NDS streamer and power supply through the 125K Statement amplifier ito a pair of £70K Focal Stella Utopias! What can I say but wow! Without doubt the best system I have ever heard. If I could afford it, I would buy it, in a heartbeat.
