/...so we headed out to Yamaha's stand at IFA Berlin to take a look for ourselves...
...and we were very impressed.
The MX-A5000 discrete structured 11-channel Power Amplifier.
In addition to 11.2 channel output and 5 channel Bi-Amping other configurations are possible.
The CX-A5000. ESS 9016 DAC for all channels including front and rear presence channels

We are expecting our CX-A5000 and MX-A5000 to arrive shortly, expect a follow up blog after we've put it through its paces in our very own dem room.
